All photographs are part of the description. We are always obtaining interesting pieces of estate jewelry. We have jewelry and watches appropriate for all ages, genders and occasions. We also have a seemingly endless number of other interesting antiques and collectibles.
We do not know color or clarity, and do not know natural from heated, enhanced, or synthetic. We either rely upon marks for metal purity, or test for gold content. Whatever we say the metal purity is 14K, 18K, 925 Sterling, etc. Here is an exceptional antique lavalier containing a very large round cut aquamarine blue topaz.
The necklace measures 1-1/2 inches long with the lavalier itself measuring 1-1/2 inches long and 3/4 inches wide. The bow and chain appear to be rose gold. There is one small diamond set into white gold in the center of the bow. A single long drop containing 10 tiny natural seed pearls ends in a 6.33mm round facet cut, bezel set blue topaz. The topaz is approximately 1 carat total weight. The entire necklace weighs 4.6 grams total. The clasp is marked 14K on the tongue, but it is a replacement because a piece from this period would not have a lobster clasp. It also looks yellower than the chain and pendant. There are no other content or identifying marks so we tested the lavalier and guarantee it to be 14K Gold.
